A Good Night

The kids and I have been all alone this week (Brent's in China) and I got tired of leftovers. So, we all went to dinner at Brixx's pizza. The kids did great - they colored and played with pizza dough. Coolie Bobbie had to come with us too - she even got her own seat at the table. Fi introduced Coolie Bobbie to everyone - the greeter (who kindly said she really liked the name), the waitress, the manager, and the girl who brought out the pizzas. The waitress kept asking Fi if her baby needed anything. She also asked Will if he liked being an uncle; he totally didn't get that. :)

The complex Brixx's is in has different musicians perform on the weekends during the summer. There was a jazz quartet playing and the kids started dancing to the music - it was awesome! We finished our evening with some ice cream and listened to more jazz as we ate it.

I had a good Sunday also - our sitter came over and watched the kids while I had some adult time to myself. An awesome afternoon of shopping and a latte - good times! :)

Getting Ready for Easter

Our neighborhood social committee does a great job of putting all kinds of fun events together. Saturday (after the neighborhood yard sale), they had the Easter Bunny come to our neighborhood. We walked down to the pool area (not far) and Fi insisted on bringing one of her dollies. She decided to name this dolly "Coolie Bobbie." I have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA where she came up with this name. I've tried to change it to something "normal" but she turns me down every time.

We were quite the site walking with Fi pushing her little stroller and Will running ahead. It was really touching, actually. The sidewalk ends at one point and Fi wasn't able to push the stroller on the grass. Will came over and offered to push it for her. It was so sweet.

We got to the pool and the line for the bunny wasn't too long. The kids managed to be patient - it helped that they saw the kids that finished got eggs with candy in them. They ran up to the Easter Bunny (unlike their reaction to Santa) and immediately sat with him. The neighborhood had a photographer taking pictures (not sure if they're going to call, just send the pictures, or what) and she gave my kids a great compliment - she said they're very photographic and have great smiles. She asked me how many great pictures I had of them. Quite a few, actually. :)

Will's Rollercoaster

The kids have been pretty creative recently. Will, of course, loves to make different train track designs. He's now expanded into rollercoasters - he got to go on his first rollercoaster ride last summer and had a blast! This little video shows what Will designed for me during rest time this week - I'm still really impressed with how he made the curved part manage to stay together while hanging in mid-air; it's not even touching the ground. Enjoy!

First Drive - Go Karts

While in Pigeon Forge, we took advantage of a permanent kiddie carnival and Will did some driving. They actually had go-karts for 4 yr olds! Sofia could have driven too (it was by height) but we decided it was not a good plan for her. Will had a great time - except when he got hit by other cars. We can't wait to see when he gets another chance to drive again! :)

Crib Escape

Sofia has learned how to get out of her crib - all thanks to big brother, Will. You can see from this video that he's really proud and excited about that fact.

She surprised us one morning by actually walking into our room saying, "Hi Mommy. Hi Daddy. I wake up!" She was really excited about her escape - I just started worrying about what she would do at nap time. Luckily, she doesn't escape unless someone comes to get her (thank goodness!).

After I saw how she got out of the crib, we decided to put the bar down (so it's not such a long fall, just in case). Even with the bar down, she doesn't get out unless we get her. So, we think this may be the end of the crib. The current owners of our new house are leaving their kids twin beds and we plan to just put Sofia into that when we get into the new house. I'm not sure if we'll have to put a gate in her room or not (we did with Will in MI because he would wake up, get out of bed, and come upstairs to get us when he wasn't quite so good at the stairs) but we'll find out soon enough. She's getting so big!

Chipmunk Dance

The kids LOVE dancing to the Chipmunks CD. This is them dancing and singing to "She Loves You (also called the "Ya-Ya Song")," one of their favorites. Hope it makes you smile as much as we do.

Spring Sing 2010

Here's the video from Will's Spring Sing at school. I'm sorry it's a little jumpy, but I was holding Sofia and she didn't want to sit still (especially during the 1st song). But, we think it's cute and wanted to share. I really like the way he keeps time during the 2nd song by nodding his head to the beat. :)

Will's 4th B-day at School

Here's the video of Will's 4th birthday at school. We had a train cake made out of cupcakes and all the kids sang "Happy Birthday." Will, Sofia, Truman, and Jackson all helped blow out the candles.
